Joy Badder, Regional Director: Western Region

Second year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Avon-Maitland, Bluewater, Greater Essex County, Lambton Kent and Thames Valley District School Boards.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

OPSOA serves a key role in public education representing not only the voices of the Supervisory Officers and Directors but the students within our schools. OPSOA provides many professional opportunities for Supervisory Officers and Directors to enhance our commitment to quality public education throughout Ontario. I am proud to be an OPSOA member and serve on the Board of Directors representing the Western Region.

Multi year member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Niagara, Grand Erie, Hamilton-Wentworth, Upper Grand and Waterloo Region District School Boards.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

OPSOA fulfills a significant and influential role in the Province of Ontario as it advocates wherever and whenever possible for the needs of students. OPSOA also fulfills an important role in publicly funded education in Ontario as it provides support to its members through its professional activities. OPSOA provides its members with outstanding networking opportunities and allows us to grow personally and professionally as leaders in education. I am proud to be a member of this professional organization!

What OPSOA Means to Me:

I am proud to be an OPSOA member, and privileged to represent OPSOA members at CASA.

Through our strategic plan, OPSOA provides the professional voice for public education, and supports members, both supervisory officers and directors of education, through leadership, networking and professional growth opportunities. Through OPSOA, we have a direct influence on the future of public education in the Province of Ontario.

Second year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing OPSOA members at PCODE.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

OPSOA represents the voice of Supervisory Officers in advocating for students in the public school system in Ontario. Members have a unique opportunity to share effective strategies, network together, and readily connect with senior education professionals from across the province of Ontario. Together, our collective experience and voice can support our provincial direction in public education, and provide valuable input to the Ministry of Education.

I am honoured to represent PCODE on the OPSOA Board of Directors. The relationship between OPSOA and PCODE is of critical importance in bringing the needs and interests of our students forward. I look forward to continuing the collaboration with OPSOA on behalf of public Directors in Ontario.


Laura Elliott

What OPSOA Means to Me:

I have been a proud member of OPSOA for more than 15 years and it is a privilege to serve on the Board of Directors. OPSOA provides professional services for Supervisory Officers and Directors, numerous networking opportunities for members, as well as providing strategic direction to the province on a multitude of educational issues.

Sue Greer, Regional Director: Southwestern Region

Third year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Niagara, Grand Erie, Hamilton-Wentworth, Upper Grand and Waterloo Region District School Boards.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

OPSOA for me is a way to reach out to colleagues across our region as well as the Province and share experiences. As we move the student learning agenda forward in the Province of Ontario, we will benefit greatly from each other's experiences and new knowledge creation. OPSOA will also be an opportunity for me to represent the voices of other Superintendents across the region in hopes that we can contribute from the front line, the educational perspective when creating the way forward in public education. Together we can make a difference for each and every student in Ontario.


Michelle Leigh

Michelle Leigh, Regional Director: Northern Region

Second year member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Algoma, DSB Ontario North East, Keewatin-Patricia, Lakehead, Near North, Rainbow, Rainy River and Superior-Greenstone District School Boards.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

As an OPSOA member of 5 years, I proudly sit on the OPSOA Board of Directors. OPSOA proudly advocates for public education in Ontario, addressing issues and proactively providing a strong voice in provincial discussions to the betterment of students, teachers, and OPSOA members. Public education is an essential tenet of our society, providing opportunity, access, and equity to all students. On behalf of my colleagues in the North, I feel privileged to advocate and promote public education.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

As a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors, I am privileged to have the opportunity to represent superintendents from the Central Region. The breadth and depth of the work that OPSOA is engaged in serves to ensure strong supervisory officer voice in the discourse on public education. OPSOA's participation is valuable and valued.

Norah Marsh, President-Elect

Second year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Ottawa-Carleton, Renfrew, Upper Canada, Limestone, Hastings-Prince Edward and Kawartha Pine-Ridge.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

The public education system in Ontario is one of high standards; superintendents and directors play a critical role in ensuring its quality. OPSOA is our vehicle to collaboratively learn to ensure that every English public board in Ontario reaches excellence. I am therefore honoured to be part of the Board of Directors for OPSOA and serve on its executive in the role of President Elect.

First year as a member of the OPSOA Board of Directors representing Ottawa-Carleton, Renfrew, Upper Canada, Limestone, Hastings-Prince Edward and Kawartha Pine-Ridge.

What OPSOA Means to Me:

Public education in Ontario is grounded in our commitment to high quality teaching and learning and our belief in success for all students. At the cornerstone of that vision is the importance of strong leadership. I am proud to represent the voices of OPSOA East to address common interests and explore professional growth and networking opportunities so that we can continue to promote improvement in student achievement.

Uton Robinson, Regional Director: Metro Region

What OPSOA Means to Me:

OPSOA continues to be a leader in public education. As a strong advocate, OPSOA provides senior Supervisory Officers and Directors of Education in Ontario with a unified voice that makes a positive difference for students in this province.




Kathy Soule


Kathy Soule, Executive Director

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Members and Staff of OPSOA we welcome Kathy Soule as our new Executive Director.

Kathy Soule brings many strengths to the organization of OPSOA. She has cultivated effective working relationships provincially, including work with the Ontario Public School Boards' Association, the Ministry of Education, and other education partners and stakeholders. Her experience in working in three boards in the capacity of Supervisory Officer and Director of Education, will serve our members well.

Our past Executive Director, Frank Kelly, continues to inspire and provide leadership as the Executive Director of CODE.
